Forehead shape and persistent lines
Forehead filler in Hale, Altrincham
Forehead filler can soften dips, restore a smoother curve and reduce selected persistent lines, helping the upper part of your face look less hollow or sharply contoured.

What you've noticed
A dip, a shadow or a line that stays
Forehead concerns don't all start with wrinkles. Sometimes a small change in contour makes the bigger difference.
The practical details
Forehead filler at a glance
Treatment is planned around the contour or line you want to change, rather than a standard forehead shape.
The result
A smoother forehead contour, not one standard shape
Restoring support to a hollow can soften the dip and the shadow it creates, making the forehead look less bony or uneven.
You may prefer a gentle curve, or want a particular indentation to be less obvious while keeping the rest of your forehead much as it is. A rounder outline can be part of a more feminine appearance if that is your aim; it isn't the default for everyone.
Selected lines that remain at rest may also look shallower with filler. The result depends on the cause and depth of the line, so Dr Alex may recommend treating muscle movement or skin texture as well.
The aim is for the change to fit your brow position, temples and profile. Your forehead shouldn't look as though it belongs to a different face.

Choosing the right treatment
Is it the shape, the movement or the skin?
An examination helps separate concerns that look similar in the mirror but need different treatments.
What filler won't change
It cannot reshape the bone underneath
Filler adds to the contour; it cannot reduce a prominent brow bone or move a low brow. It also doesn't relax the muscle that creates expression lines.
Botox may be more relevant when movement is the main cause, while laser may be better for etched surface wrinkles. Dr Alex will explain whether filler has a useful role, on its own or alongside another treatment.
How it works
Adding support beneath a dip or crease
Hyaluronic acid filler is a gel that occupies space beneath the skin, supporting an area that looks hollow or indented.
A forehead can have an inward dip even when the skin itself is smooth. Adding support beneath that dip changes the curve, so the hollow and its shadow become less obvious. The surrounding brow ridge may look less stark as a result.
For a suitable persistent line, a more local addition can help support the crease from underneath. This is different from Botox, which reduces the muscle movement folding the skin.
The choice of product and treatment area depends on whether Dr Alex is addressing a broader contour or an individual line. Those are different jobs, even though both are described as forehead filler.

Why Dr Alex
Filler experience, with your facial shape in mind
Dr Alex teaches doctors, dentists and nurses across dermal filler ranges. He is currently a trainer for Evolus's Estyme fillers and has helped introduce Estyme and Aliaxin LV to the UK market.
For your forehead, the assessment is about more than smoothing an isolated dip. The curve needs to fit your brow ridge, temples and the rest of your profile, including any features you want to preserve.
He'll talk through that with you, including whether you want a softer, more feminine contour or simply to restore support without changing your overall appearance. He can also discuss whether a line needs filler at all.

Safety
What are the risks of forehead filler?
The forehead has important blood vessels, including connections to those supplying the eyes. Its anatomy needs particular care.
Possible side effects
Tenderness, bruising, redness and swelling can occur after treatment. An uneven contour, lumps, infection or delayed inflammation are other possible problems.
Rarely, filler can block a blood vessel, damaging the skin and potentially causing scarring. Permanent loss of vision and stroke are serious possible complications of facial filler injections. These risks need to be understood before choosing treatment.
Using HA filler means a dissolving treatment may be possible when appropriate. It does not remove those risks or guarantee that a complication can be reversed.
When to seek urgent help
Contact the clinic urgently for unusual or increasing pain, pale or dusky skin, mottling or worsening redness. Seek urgent medical care if you cannot reach us. Sudden changes in vision, severe eye pain, weakness or trouble speaking need emergency help: call 999 and mention the filler treatment.
When filler may not be appropriate
Tell Dr Alex about previous filler or surgery, infections, allergies, medicines, pregnancy or breastfeeding and relevant health conditions so he can advise on suitability. An active infection near the treatment area needs to settle first.
You can discuss the alternatives and take time to decide before having treatment.
