Sunekos skin booster

Sunekos Skin Booster in Hale, Altrincham

Help dry, finely creased skin look smoother and feel better hydrated with a treatment combining hyaluronic acid and amino acids, including for suitable under-eye concerns.

Concealer is meant to help, but lately it seems to point out every little line under your eyes. Or perhaps your cheeks feel dry and look finely creased, even though you're keeping up with skincare.

Sunekos is an injectable skin treatment combining hyaluronic acid with amino acids to improve hydration and support skin quality. It is used for fine creasing and skin that has lost some elasticity, rather than deliberately building a cheek or defining a jawline. Dr Alex will assess whether it fits the change you've noticed.

What you might have noticed

When makeup brings out the little lines

The issue can be the skin itself, even if you are happy with the shape of your face.

Concealer gathers under your eyes

You try less product, a different formula or more eye cream, but the fine creases still show. You'd like the skin underneath to look smoother.

Your cheeks feel dry and look crumpled

The skin doesn't feel as supple, and small lines seem more obvious through the day. You want it to look and feel better, rather than simply cover it.

Your under-eyes always look tired

Thin or creased skin may be part of the problem. Dr Alex will check whether the tired look comes from the skin, a hollow, pigmentation or an eye bag.

The result

Smoother skin beneath the makeup

Sunekos aims to improve hydration, fine creasing and elasticity so the skin looks less dry and feels more supple.

That might mean less crumpling beneath concealer or fine lines that are less obvious across your cheeks. Around the eyes, the aim is to improve suitable skin-quality concerns rather than fill every shadow.

The change should be assessed once injection bumps and swelling have settled, then over the following weeks. An eye bag, a deep hollow or established pigmentation may need a different treatment, even when improving the skin would also help.

Is it for you?

When Sunekos may suit your skin

It is worth discussing when fine creasing and hydration are more important than adding shape or volume.

You want a skin-quality improvement
Your face shape feels right, but the skin looks dry or has developed fine creases. You'd like it to feel softer and look smoother.
The skin under your eyes is the concern
If the issue is thin, creased skin, an injectable skin treatment may be an option. Dr Alex will distinguish this from a hollow, pigment or a protruding fat pad.
You can allow time for a course
You can fit appointments around work and allow visible marks to settle. The aim is a developing improvement rather than a same-day fix before an event.

Under-eye assessment

Different causes need different answers

Sunekos will not remove an eye bag or reliably erase dark circles caused by pigment or facial structure. Tear-trough filler, polynucleotides, laser or a surgical opinion may be more relevant, depending on the cause. You don't need to work that out before your consultation.

How it works

Hydration with support for skin quality

Sunekos combines hyaluronic acid, which holds water, with a blend of amino acids - the building blocks of proteins.

The formulation is injected into the skin to improve hydration and support the tissue around its collagen-producing cells. The combination is designed to support collagen and elastin, which help give skin firmness and stretch.

It is different from using a contouring filler to build up a cheek or define a chin. Sunekos treatments focus on the condition of the skin, with the formulation and placement selected for the area being treated.

Your appointment

What happens during Sunekos treatment?

There is time to assess the skin before agreeing where to treat.

Consultation

Look at the concern closely

Dr Alex checks the skin, including any under-eye hollow, swelling or pigmentation. Tell him about previous filler, skin treatments, allergies, medical conditions and medicines.
Before treatment

Agree the area and plan

You'll discuss the Sunekos formulation, expected change, likely course and total fee. Comfort measures are explained before the injections begin.
During treatment

Treat with small injections

The product is placed in the selected areas. You may feel brief stinging or pinpricks, and small raised marks can appear at the injection sites. You can ask to pause.
Aftercare and review

Allow the skin to settle

Follow your advice on skincare, makeup, exercise and sun protection. Avoid pressing or massaging the area unless instructed. The result is reviewed after the early swelling has settled.

Why Dr Alex

Why choose Dr Alex for Sunekos?

Dr Alex is a contributing author to the Skin chapter in Decision Making in Aesthetic Practice. He also teaches doctors, dentists and nurses in aesthetic medicine in the UK and internationally.

For Sunekos, his assessment starts with why the skin looks creased or the eyes look tired. A skin booster, a treatment for pigment and a treatment for a hollow do different jobs. He'll explain which problem is present and whether Sunekos is likely to offer the improvement you want.

Safety and recovery

Allow for a few visible injection marks

Small bumps, redness, tenderness, swelling and bruising can follow treatment. The under-eye area can show swelling more noticeably.

Possible side effects

Infection, persistent swelling, lumps and allergic or inflammatory reactions are possible. Although this is a skin-quality treatment, it still involves facial injections. Rare vascular complications can cause skin injury, and visual symptoms need urgent assessment.

Tell Dr Alex about previous under-eye filler or puffiness, allergies and medicines that affect bleeding. Do not stop prescribed medicines without speaking to your prescriber.

When to get urgent help

Contact the clinic immediately for severe or increasing pain, unusually pale, grey or mottled skin, or rapidly worsening swelling. Increasing heat, redness, pus or fever also need prompt advice. Call 999 for any change in vision, severe eye pain, sudden weakness, difficulty speaking or breathing, or swelling of the tongue or throat.

When treatment may need to wait

Treatment is postponed during pregnancy or breastfeeding and if there is active infection, a cold sore or significant inflammation in the area. Allergies, immune conditions, bleeding problems and previous treatments need assessment before proceeding.

You can ask questions, compare options and take time to decide.

Your questions

Sunekos treatment questions

Hydration, under-eyes and how it compares with other skin injectables.

Is Sunekos the same as dermal filler?
It contains hyaluronic acid, but the treatment is aimed at hydration and skin quality rather than sculpting a feature. It isn't used in the same way as a contouring cheek or chin filler. Some temporary fullness can follow injections, especially while swelling settles.
Can Sunekos help dark circles?
It may help the appearance of some under-eye concerns when thin, finely creased skin contributes. Dark circles can also come from pigment, visible vessels or a structural hollow. Dr Alex will assess the cause rather than promise that one treatment will clear them all.
Can it get rid of eye bags?
It won't remove a protruding fat pad or loose skin causing a true eye bag. If puffiness is the main issue, adding an injectable may be unhelpful. The consultation will establish whether treating the skin is worthwhile or whether another approach is needed.
How is it different from polynucleotides?
Sunekos combines hyaluronic acid and amino acids; polynucleotide products use DNA-derived chains. Both may be considered for skin quality, but their ingredients, treatment plans and areas of use differ. Dr Alex can compare them for your particular skin concern.
How does Sunekos compare with Profhilo?
Both contain hyaluronic acid and can be considered for skin quality. Sunekos also contains amino acids and may be selected for more localised concerns, including suitable under-eye skin. Profhilo has a different formulation and treatment approach. The choice depends on the area and the change you want.
When will I see a difference?
Look for changes in hydration and fine creasing over the weeks after treatment. Allow the small injection bumps and any swelling to settle first. A course may be recommended so the result can develop and be reviewed over several appointments.
How many sessions will I need?
The course depends on the Sunekos formulation and the area being treated. Dr Alex will explain the number and spacing before you start, together with the full cost. Your progress is reviewed before deciding on further treatment.
How long will the results last?
Results gradually fade, and maintenance can help keep up the improvement. How often you need it depends on your skin, the formulation and your initial course. Dr Alex will explain the likely timing and review the result with you.
Will I be puffy afterwards?
Small raised injection marks and swelling are possible, and the under-eye area can be more noticeable. These need time to settle; bruising can last longer. Avoid booking immediately before an important event, and contact the clinic if swelling is persistent or getting worse.
Can I have Sunekos with other treatments?
It can be considered as part of a wider skin plan, but the order and spacing need to suit the procedures involved. Tell Dr Alex about recent filler, laser, microneedling and treatments booked elsewhere so he can plan the timing.
