Exosomes with laser and microneedling

Exosome Skin Treatments in Hale, Altrincham

An optional addition to laser or microneedling, chosen to support skin recovery and a smoother, healthier-looking complexion.

If you're treating rough texture, fine lines or old acne scars, you'd like to get the most from your appointment. Exosomes are an optional addition to laser or microneedling, used to support the skin as it recovers and aim for a smoother, healthier-looking finish.

They are tiny particles released by cells, used in preparations applied to the skin. Dr Alex can include them with microneedling or after selected laser and RF microneedling treatments, choosing the product to suit your skin and the procedure.

What to expect

A smoother, healthier-looking finish

Smoother texture, softer-looking fine lines or less obvious acne scarring may be the aim of your treatment plan.

Your laser or microneedling treatment does the main work on the concern being treated. An exosome preparation may be suggested alongside it to support the recovering skin and the overall skin-quality result.

Products differ, so the extra benefit depends on the preparation and the procedure. Dr Alex will explain what the particular combination is intended to improve. You'll review the result once the skin has settled, with further changes developing according to your main treatment.

Is it for you?

When exosomes may fit your plan

The starting point is choosing an effective treatment for your concern.

You are already considering a skin procedure
You want to improve texture, fine lines or suitable acne scars. Once the main treatment is agreed, Dr Alex can discuss whether an exosome preparation would be a useful addition.
You want to make the most of your appointment
The preparation can be applied during the same visit. You can compare the added benefit and fee before deciding whether to include it.
You can follow the recovery advice
Good aftercare still matters. You'll need to follow the instructions for your main treatment, including when to use skincare, makeup and sun protection.

Choosing your treatment

Start with the right procedure

For a hollow cheek, significant sagging or excess skin, another approach may be more useful. Dr Alex will explain which treatment addresses the change you want, and where an exosome add-on might fit.

How it works

What are exosomes?

Exosomes are tiny particles released by cells. In biology, they carry substances involved in communication between cells.

Skin-treatment products combine these particles with other ingredients. They are used to support the skin's repair processes alongside a procedure, with the aim of improving recovery and skin quality.

Laser and microneedling temporarily change the skin barrier, so Dr Alex selects a preparation suited to the treatment. It is applied to the skin rather than injected to fill a line or reshape your face.

Your appointment

How exosomes fit into the appointment

The application sits within your wider treatment, rather than needing a separate round of injections.

Consultation

Choose the main treatment

Dr Alex examines your skin and asks what you want to change, what you've tried and how much downtime you can allow. Tell him about sensitive skin, allergies, cold sores and previous reactions.
Planning

Discuss the add-on

You'll hear which preparation is proposed, the reason for adding it and the fee. You can ask to compare the same treatment without exosomes before making a decision.
During your appointment

Treat the skin

Your laser or microneedling is carried out, with the exosome preparation applied at the appropriate stage. The main procedure determines the comfort measures and how the appointment feels.
At home

Follow your aftercare

Use only the products advised while your skin recovers. We'll explain cleansing, sun protection, makeup and when to restart active skincare, with a review appropriate to the procedure.

Safety and recovery

Your skin still needs time to settle

Redness, tenderness, swelling or flaking may follow the main procedure. The amount depends on the treatment and its intensity.

Possible side effects

The preparation itself can cause irritation or an allergic reaction. Applying products to recently treated skin also requires particular care with product suitability and infection prevention.

Tell Dr Alex about allergies, active skin problems, cold sores and previous reactions to skincare or treatments. Don't add an online exosome serum to freshly lasered or needled skin without checking it with the clinic.

When to get urgent help

Contact the clinic promptly if pain, heat, redness or swelling is worsening, or if you develop blisters, spreading redness, pus or a fever. A new change in vision needs urgent medical assessment. Call 999 for difficulty breathing, collapse or swelling of the tongue or throat.

When treatment may need to wait

An active skin infection, cold sore or inflamed skin may mean postponing treatment. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, allergies, medicines and conditions affecting healing must be considered for the procedure and the preparation proposed.

You can choose the main treatment without an optional add-on, or take time to consider the whole plan.

Your questions

Exosome treatment questions

What they are, how they are used and whether adding them is worthwhile.

Are exosomes the same as stem cells?
No. Exosomes are particles released by cells, not living stem cells. Their contents and source vary between products. An exosome treatment does not involve growing new stem cells in your face.
Are exosomes a filler or a skin booster?
They aren't a contouring filler. Here they are applied to the skin alongside a procedure, rather than injected to fill a hollow or shape a cheek. Injectable skin boosters are a separate option, chosen for concerns such as hydration and fine creasing.
Can I have exosomes with CO2 laser?
They can be considered after selected laser treatments, including CO2, where the preparation is appropriate. Dr Alex will choose the product alongside the laser plan. The laser settings and area treated still determine your aftercare and recovery.
Can they be used with microneedling and RF microneedling?
Yes, these are both combinations Dr Alex can offer. The product and timing are selected for the particular treatment. RF microneedling also uses heat, so its recovery and product choices aren't automatically identical to ordinary microneedling.
Will exosomes make my results better?
Some preparations have shown added benefits with laser or microneedling. The product matters: results from one preparation don't automatically apply to another. Dr Alex will explain what the proposed combination could add for your skin.
Will they reduce my downtime?
They may help the skin settle, but allow the usual recovery time for your laser or microneedling. Keep following your aftercare, and leave enough time before an important event.
Which exosome brand do you use?
Dr Alex uses more than one preparation and chooses according to the treatment plan. You'll be told which product is proposed and why. We don't tie every procedure to a single brand.
Does the application hurt?
The preparation is applied to the skin, so it doesn't require another set of injections. Freshly treated skin can still feel sensitive or sting. The laser or microneedling will account for most of the treatment sensation.
How many appointments will I need?
That depends on the concern and your main treatment. Exosomes may be included in a single appointment or discussed as part of a course. There is no separate automatic course that everyone needs.
Are exosomes better than PRP?
They are different options. PRP is prepared from your own blood; exosome products are supplied preparations with varying ingredients and sources. PRP requires a blood sample, while a topical exosome preparation does not. The choice should follow the evidence for the proposed combination and what you want from treatment.
