A consultation with Dr Alex at SONÜ to distinguish muscle tone, local fat and loose skin before treatment.
What you might be noticing
You want a bit more definition in short sleeves
Arm toning means different things to different people. It helps to be specific about the change you want.
At a glance
Planning your arm treatment
The muscle groups selected determine the treatment plan and total appointment time.
The change to look for
More shape beneath the sleeve
As the treated muscle develops, the upper arm can look more defined and feel firmer.
The aim might be a more noticeable biceps outline or firmer triceps when your arms are relaxed at your sides. Building these muscles can also support your strength goals alongside regular exercise. If fat or loose skin is hiding the definition, Dr Alex can discuss whether a separate treatment, such as ONDA, would help with that part.

Is it right for you?
When stronger muscles could improve the outline
You can discuss either a subtle change in tone or a more athletic appearance.
When muscle treatment is not enough
Loose skin needs more than a stronger triceps
If your main concern is a fold of hanging skin or a lot of loose, crepey skin, EMSCULPT alone is unlikely to solve it. Dr Alex will explain whether skin-tightening treatment or a surgical opinion is more likely to give you the change you want.
How it works
Targeting the biceps and triceps
Small EMSCULPT applicators are positioned over the selected upper-arm muscles. Focused electromagnetic energy triggers strong contractions without needles.
The biceps at the front of the arm and triceps at the back are treated according to your plan. Repeated, involuntary muscle contractions give them a strong stimulus to develop. You can settle back while the device does the repetitions, then get on with your day. SONÜ uses original EMSCULPT, with the option of a separate ONDA course where fat or skin concerns also need treatment.
Your appointment
A plan for the part of your arms you want to change
The treatment can be arranged around the muscle groups that need attention.

Why Dr Alex
Deciding what your arms actually need
Dr Alex's medical assessment helps distinguish muscle definition from loose skin, local fat or a problem related to injury. That is useful when you're asking for 'toned arms', because the same phrase can describe several different concerns.
He will explain whether developing the biceps or triceps is likely to give the improvement you want, which groups should be treated and whether another approach deserves consideration. You can make that decision before committing to a course.

Safety and aftercare
A worked-muscle feeling afterwards
Mild soreness, temporary tiredness or cramps can follow treatment. Most people can continue with normal activities.
Possible side effects
The contractions can feel strong, but they should remain tolerable. Tell the practitioner if you develop sharp pain, tingling or an uncomfortable pulling sensation. Treatment can be adjusted or stopped. Let the team know about any new injury before your next session.
When to get urgent help
Contact the clinic promptly for severe or increasing pain, marked swelling, new numbness or weakness affecting the arm or hand. If you cannot reach the clinic, seek advice through NHS 111. These symptoms should not be dismissed as ordinary post-exercise soreness.
When treatment may not be suitable
Tell Dr Alex about any pacemaker, implanted electronic device, metalwork, previous arm or shoulder surgery, nerve or muscle condition, active illness, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Metal and electronic implants can prevent safe treatment. Recent injury or surgery needs assessment first, and cosmetic treatment is deferred during pregnancy.
You will receive advice on activity between sessions and how to contact the clinic with concerns.
Treatment costs
EMSCULPT arm treatment prices
Both arms, including the biceps and triceps, count as one treatment area. A session costs £185, a four-session package £600 and a six-session package £850.
