Those small creases beside your nose
A little detail you've started to notice
This can be a very specific concern. You don't have to want a whole-face treatment to ask about one small area.
The practical details
Bunny-line treatment at a glance
The goal is a small, focused improvement. The plan depends on how your nose and nearby facial muscles move.
The change to look for
Less creasing when you scrunch your nose
Bunny-line treatment is about softening a small fold, rather than changing the overall shape of your nose.
When the muscles involved pull less strongly, the skin can look smoother during the expression that normally brings out the lines. The amount of change depends on the pattern of movement and how established the wrinkle has become.
A line that only appears with a scrunch is different from a groove that stays when your face is relaxed. Treatment may soften the movement without fully removing a fixed mark in the skin.
The effect is localised, aiming to soften the creases at the sides of your nose. It won't remove a nasal hump, narrow the bridge or create the result of nose filler or surgery. If you're pleased with your nose and simply want fewer little wrinkles beside it, that can be the whole reason for the appointment.

Is this the right target?
Show Dr Alex the expression that makes the lines
A relaxed photograph can miss bunny lines entirely. Seeing how they form helps distinguish them from nearby frown or skin creases.
Lines or nose shape?
They call for different treatments
If you're hoping to change the shape of your nose, treating bunny lines won't achieve that. If the concern is a crease that remains at rest, Dr Alex will assess the skin as well as the movement. Pointing out the exact change you want helps avoid a treatment that misses it.
What creates a bunny line?
Several small muscles can contribute to the fold
Muscle movement around the upper nose pulls on the skin as you smile, squint or scrunch. The visible crease doesn't tell the whole story of what is moving beneath and beside it.
Botulinum toxin temporarily reduces activity in the muscles selected for treatment. With less pull, the skin folds less strongly.
The nearby muscles also contribute to your smile and upper-lip movement. Dr Alex therefore looks at those expressions as well as the nose wrinkle before planning the injections. It is a small treatment area, but it still needs an assessment of the surrounding face.
Your appointment
A small area, with time to talk it through
You'll be asked to smile and scrunch your nose so Dr Alex can see the lines you mean. There is no need to practise a particularly impressive scrunch beforehand.

Experience with botulinum toxin
Why choose Dr Alex for this small area?
Dr Alex trains doctors, dentists and nurses in botulinum toxin treatments. He is an international key opinion leader and advocate for Evolus and has delivered toxin-related education at events including BCAM and Aesthetic Medicine North.
The decision here is quite specific: whether reducing the nose-scrunch movement will give you a change you actually want. He assesses the surrounding smile and upper-lip movement, along with any recent treatments, before recommending a plan.
You don't need to add other areas simply because you're already in the clinic. If the likely improvement is too small for what you have in mind, he'll explain that before you commit.

Side effects
What should you know about treating this area?
You may have brief redness, small bumps, tenderness or bruising where the injections are given. A headache can also occur after toxin treatment.
Possible side effects
An uneven result or an unwanted effect on nearby muscles can change upper-lip movement or make the smile look different. This is one reason the assessment includes more than the visible nose wrinkle.
The effects of treatment are temporary, but an unwanted movement change may take time to wear off. Allergic reactions and wider muscle weakness are also possible. Dr Alex will explain the relevant risks and answer your questions before treatment.
If something does not feel right
Contact the clinic if you notice a new uneven smile, difficulty moving the upper lip, increasing pain or other unexpected symptoms. Seek urgent medical care for difficulty swallowing or speaking or widespread weakness. Call 999 for breathing difficulty or a severe allergic reaction.
When treatment may not be suitable
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, an active infection at the treatment site, certain nerve or muscle conditions and previous reactions can affect suitability. Tell Dr Alex about all medicines, recent toxin injections and any nose surgery or other treatment.
You can decide against treatment after discussing the likely change.
Treatment costs
What does bunny-line treatment cost?
Bunny-line treatment counts as one area and costs £200. Two areas cost £280, three £350 and four £430. Dr Alex will confirm your plan before treatment.
