LanLuma for body shape

LanLuma for buttocks and hip dips in Hale, Altrincham

LanLuma stimulates your own collagen to add gradual fullness to a flatter bottom and soften the dips at the sides of your hips.

You might like a rounder shape in jeans, or find that the dip between your hip and thigh catches your eye every time you get dressed. LanLuma can help build fullness in selected areas, with a change that develops over several months.

It's an injectable collagen stimulator. Rather than relying on an instant gel-filler result, it encourages your body to make more of its own collagen. Dr Alex plans treatment around the shape you have and the change you'd like, whether that's softening hip dips or adding a little more fullness to your bottom.

What you've noticed

A little more shape where you want it

People consider this treatment for different reasons. The starting point is the particular part of your shape you'd like to change.

Your bottom looks flatter

You may have always had a flatter bottom, or noticed a change after losing weight. You'd like some roundness back, without a dramatic increase in size.

The dips at your hips show through clothes

Hip dips are a normal part of body shape. If yours bother you, treatment can soften the indentation between the side of the hip and the upper thigh.

Exercise has helped, but the outline still bothers you

You can feel stronger and be happy with your fitness while still noticing the same dips. Muscle, bone structure and the tissue over them all contribute to the shape you see.

The change to look for

A rounder shape that still feels like you

LanLuma can add fullness to flatter areas and make the line from your hips to your thighs look smoother.

The result builds as your body responds to treatment. Dr Alex looks at the whole area, including the balance between the two sides, so the plan makes sense for your proportions.

Don't judge the result in the first few days. The fluid used with LanLuma can make the area look fuller straight away, then settle before the collagen change becomes visible.

Is it right for you?

What would make this treatment worthwhile?

LanLuma is worth considering when you want a modest, gradual change and are comfortable allowing time for it to develop.

You want to soften a specific dip
Dr Alex can assess whether adding fullness around the indentation would improve its appearance. Your underlying bone structure still helps determine the outline.
You'd like more roundness
It may suit a flatter area that would benefit from additional volume. The amount needed matters, both for the likely result and for the overall cost.
You're happy to build the result gradually
Treatment can be staged, with time to see how you respond before deciding on more. It isn't something to squeeze in just before a holiday and expect a finished result.

A useful boundary

How much change are you hoping for?

LanLuma won't create the same size increase as a surgical fat-transfer procedure or remove substantial excess skin. If that is the change you want, Dr Alex will explain why injections may offer poor value for you.

How LanLuma works

Your own collagen does the building

LanLuma contains poly-L-lactic acid, usually shortened to PLLA. It encourages the body to produce collagen in the treated area.

Collagen gives skin and the tissue beneath it structure. By stimulating more of it, LanLuma can gradually add fullness and improve the appearance of the skin over that area. The product is slowly broken down by the body.

The position and amount of treatment depend on the shape being addressed. Adding roundness to a flatter bottom and softening a hip dip are related goals, but they don't necessarily need the same placement or quantity.

Your appointment

From the shape you notice to a treatment plan

You'll discuss the improvement you want, what is realistic and the likely course cost before deciding whether to go ahead.

At consultation

Show Dr Alex what bothers you

He'll assess the buttocks and hips, including skin quality, existing asymmetry and any previous procedures. You can point out exactly where you would like more fullness.
Before treatment

Agree the amount and approach

Dr Alex will explain the areas to treat, proposed vial quantity and whether staged visits make sense. Ultrasound can be used where it would help assess the area; it isn't automatically needed for every treatment.
During treatment

Treat the selected areas

Local anaesthetic is used to make treatment more comfortable. You may still feel pressure or discomfort, and you can ask for a pause at any point.
After treatment

Let the change build

You'll receive massage and aftercare instructions, including advice about exercise and pressure on the area. The result is reviewed as it develops, before deciding whether further treatment would be useful.

Why Dr Alex

Why choose Dr Alex for LanLuma body treatment?

Dr Alex has previously been a LanLuma trainer and medical advisory-board member. He has attended international training in Barcelona and presented on LanLuma at CCR in London.

For buttocks and hip dips, his assessment starts with proportion: where a little more fullness would help, how much product that would take, and whether the expected change justifies the treatment. A dip doesn't have to disappear completely for the overall shape to look better.

He'll also separate a shape concern from cellulite or loose skin. Those can sit in the same area, but treating one doesn't automatically solve the others.

Side effects and suitability

What should you know before treatment?

Swelling, bruising, tenderness and soreness can follow LanLuma injections. The area may feel temporarily firmer or uneven while it settles.

Possible side effects

Lumps, persistent inflammation, infection and uneven results are possible. Some reactions can develop later and need further treatment. LanLuma cannot be dissolved with the enzyme used for hyaluronic acid filler.

An uncommon but serious injection complication is injury to or blockage of a blood vessel, which can damage the skin and surrounding tissue. Dr Alex will explain the risks relevant to the proposed treatment before you decide.

When to get urgent help

Contact SONÜ immediately for unusual or increasing pain, or skin turning pale, grey, dusky or mottled. Seek urgent medical care if you cannot reach the clinic. Rapidly increasing swelling, spreading redness or fever also need prompt medical advice. Call 999 for sudden breathlessness, chest pain or collapse, and mention the treatment.

When treatment may need to wait

Tell Dr Alex about allergies, medicines, bleeding problems, abnormal scarring, previous injections or surgery, and relevant medical conditions. Treatment is not offered during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Active infection or inflammation in the area needs assessment before injections.

You can take time to consider the recommendation before going ahead.

Your questions

More about buttock and hip-dip treatment

These are useful things to know when weighing up the likely change, cost and recovery.

Is LanLuma a non-surgical BBL?
You'll sometimes see it described that way, but the procedures are different. LanLuma is an injectable treatment that builds collagen and gradual fullness. A surgical Brazilian butt lift transfers your own fat and can produce a much larger change. Dr Alex will explain what LanLuma could realistically achieve for your shape.
Can it get rid of hip dips completely?
It can soften the indentation by adding fullness around it. Hip dips are influenced by your natural anatomy, so a completely straight outline isn't a sensible promise. The aim is an improvement in the shape you notice, with proportions that suit you.
How many vials will I need?
That depends on the depth and size of the area, your starting shape and the result you're hoping for. Dr Alex will give you an individual recommendation. The £1,000 price is per vial of LanLuma X, so it's worth discussing the likely whole-course cost at consultation.
When will I see the result?
The collagen result develops gradually, commonly over three to six months. You may look fuller immediately because of the fluid used with the product and some swelling. That early fullness can fade within the first few days; it isn't the final result disappearing.
How long does it last?
Results are long lasting, but there isn't one reliable expiry date for every treated area. Your response, the amount used and later changes in weight or skin all matter. Dr Alex will review the improvement with you and discuss maintenance when there is a useful reason to treat again.
Does treatment hurt?
Local anaesthetic helps make it more comfortable. You can still feel pressure, tenderness or some stinging, and the area can be sore afterwards. Let Dr Alex know if you're worried about discomfort so he can talk you through what to expect.
Can I sit down and go to the gym afterwards?
You'll be given advice about sitting, pressure on the treated area and when to restart exercise. This depends on the areas and extent of treatment, so allow some flexibility rather than booking it immediately before a demanding training week or a long journey.
Will it treat cellulite too?
LanLuma can help the quality of the overlying skin, but deeper cellulite dimples may need subcision to release the bands pulling the skin down. If dimpling is your main concern, Dr Alex will assess that separately from adding buttock volume.
Can it help dents after liposuction?
Some dents may improve, but scar tissue and the amount of tissue left under the skin affect the options. Dr Alex would need to examine the area and understand your previous procedure before recommending treatment. Ultrasound may help where the underlying anatomy is unclear.
Can LanLuma be dissolved if I change my mind?
No. The enzyme used to dissolve hyaluronic acid filler does not dissolve LanLuma. That's one reason to agree a realistic amount of change and build the result carefully. Any lump or unwanted change needs assessment rather than a routine dissolving appointment.
