Crepey skin on the body
Profhilo Body in Hale, Altrincham
An 'injectable moisturiser' for crepey body skin, Profhilo Body deeply hydrates and encourages your own collagen and elastin. It helps skin look smoother and feel firmer, without adding volume like a filler.

What you've noticed
Fine wrinkles where the skin used to look smoother
Body skin can change gradually with age or become more noticeably loose after weight changes.
The practical details
Profhilo Body at a glance
A course usually involves two visits. The size of the area determines how much product is needed at each one.
The result
Less crinkly skin, with a firmer feel
The aim is smoother-looking skin across the treated patch, rather than a change in your weight or measurements.
Fine creases can soften, and the skin can feel better hydrated and more springy. On the inner arms or tummy, that can mean less crinkling as you move and smoother-looking skin in clothes that leave the area on show.
The change builds over the weeks after treatment. Small bumps just after the injections settle first; the result you're looking for is the lasting improvement in texture and firmness once the course has had time to work.

Would this suit you?
Is the loose look coming from the skin?
Dr Alex will examine the texture, the amount of spare skin and the tissue beneath it before recommending injections.
What it won't change
It won't remove fat or tighten the muscles
Profhilo Body doesn't reduce fat, repair separated abdominal muscles or replace surgery to remove excess skin. It isn't a reliable treatment for cellulite dimples either.
If the concern is mainly a pocket of fat, a deeper dimple or a large skin fold, Dr Alex will explain the more relevant options. Doing more skin injections won't turn them into a tummy tuck.
How it works
Helping your own skin become firmer and more supple
Profhilo Body combines deep hydration with stimulation of your skin's own collagen and elastin.
Hyaluronic acid helps skin hold onto water. Profhilo Body delivers it through a series of small injections, so it can spread beneath the surface across the treated area.
It also encourages collagen and elastin production. These give skin its strength and stretch, which is why treatment can improve firmness as well as dryness and fine wrinkles. The improvement develops as your skin responds over the following weeks.
This isn't filler for the body. It improves the skin itself rather than adding bulk or creating a new shape. Dr Alex will match the amount used to the size of the area: arms, knees or a larger tummy area may need two syringes at each visit.

Show Dr Alex the skin that bothers you
You don't need to know whether to call it crepiness, laxity or loose skin. Showing him the area is enough.

Why Dr Alex
Why choose Dr Alex for Profhilo Body?
Dr Alex helped launch Profhilo Body and has been a trainer for Profhilo, so his experience with the treatment goes back to its introduction.
With body skin, he'll check what you mean by 'loose'. Fine crinkling, a pocket of fat and a hanging fold need very different treatment. He'll also look at how large an area you'd like treated, so the recommended amount and cost make sense from the start.
He'll ask which change would make you happy with the result. Smoother skin may be exactly what you're after; if you're hoping for much tighter arms or a flatter tummy, he'll be clear about whether Profhilo Body can do enough.

What should you expect afterwards?
Small raised bumps, redness, tenderness, swelling or bruising can occur where the injections are given.
Possible side effects
These effects usually settle, although bruising may remain visible for longer than the injection bumps. Infection, persistent lumps and inflammatory or allergic reactions are also possible.
An injection can rarely compromise the blood supply to the skin, causing tissue damage. Increasing pain or an unusual change in skin colour needs immediate assessment. Dr Alex will explain the risks and aftercare for the area being treated.
When to get urgent help
Contact SONÜ immediately if you develop unusual or increasing pain, pale skin, or a dusky or mottled colour around the treated area. Don't wait for a routine review. If you can't reach the clinic, seek urgent medical care.
Call 999 for difficulty breathing, swelling of the tongue or throat, or collapse. Tell them you've recently had an injectable treatment.
When treatment should wait
Profhilo Body is not used during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with an allergy to its ingredients, or in infected or inflamed skin. The manufacturer also advises against treatment in people with autoimmune disease.
Tell Dr Alex about medicines, skin conditions and recent or planned procedures. Laser resurfacing or medium/deep peels in the area must be planned separately, rather than carried out alongside Profhilo Body.
You can take time to consider the course and likely improvement before deciding.
Treatment costs
How much does Profhilo Body cost?
Profhilo Body costs £400 per 3 ml syringe. A session using one syringe costs £400; a session using two costs £800. Arms, knees or a larger tummy area may need two syringes at each visit.
