Does this sound familiar?
Your cheeks and jaw don't look quite the same
An 8-point lift may appeal when several changes seem connected, especially through the cheeks and lower face.
At a glance
The essentials of an 8-point lift
Your consultation establishes the product, amount and areas. The usual HA filler guide is below.
What could change
More cheek shape and a less droopy lower face
For the right face, restoring support in selected places can improve several features together.
The cheeks may regain some of their previous contour, folds can look softer and dips along the jaw can become less obvious. Filler works on support and shape; it does not relax your facial muscles in the way Botox does.
Dr Alex will discuss how noticeable a result you want. If you like a slim face or a particular cheek shape, say so. The aim can be to restore what you miss while keeping the features you already like.

When filler can make a worthwhile difference
An 8-point approach is most useful when lost volume and support are contributing to the changes you see.
The limits of a filler lift
Filler cannot remove loose skin
It can restore support and disguise some small jowls, but it doesn't remove the jowl itself or tighten a large amount of loose skin. Adding volume to an already heavy lower face may make it look heavier.
If skin looseness or crinkly texture is the main concern, Dr Alex may recommend a skin-tightening or resurfacing treatment instead. A surgical assessment may be more useful for substantial sagging.
How it works
What the eight points actually mean
The classic approach considers eight areas on each side of the face, from the cheeks to the folds around the mouth and the jawline.
These include support at the outer and front parts of the cheeks, the junction between the lower eyelid and cheek, the upper nose-to-mouth fold, the corners of the mouth, the dip in front of a jowl, the jawline and the side of the face near the ear.
Hyaluronic acid (HA) filler is a gel placed beneath the skin to replace lost volume or improve contour. Supporting a cheek may also soften a nearby fold; filling a dip beside a small jowl can make the jawline look straighter.
The areas are assessed on your face before treatment is agreed. You don't automatically need every point injected, identical amounts on both sides or direct under-eye filler. The number of needle entries can also differ from the number of areas treated.

Why Dr Alex
Why choose Dr Alex for an 8-point facelift?
Dr Alex teaches medical professionals how to use several dermal filler ranges. He is a trainer for Evolus's Estyme fillers and has helped launch Estyme and Aliaxin LV in the UK.
For an 8-point lift, he assesses where support is missing and whether replacing it would improve the shape you want. The amount used on each side needn't be identical, and a hollow near a jowl may need a different approach from the jowl itself.
He'll talk through the expected change before treatment, including where filler would add little. You should leave the consultation understanding the recommendation, rather than just knowing how many syringes it involves.

Safety and recovery
What to expect after filler treatment
Temporary tenderness, swelling and bruising can occur. Small injection marks usually settle quickly; a bruise may be noticeable for longer.
Possible side effects
Possible problems include lumps, unevenness, persistent swelling, infection and delayed inflammatory reactions. Existing filler and previous reactions are discussed before choosing a product or adding more.
An uncommon but serious risk is blockage of a blood vessel. This can damage the skin and, rarely, cause sight loss or a stroke. Dr Alex will explain the risks of the particular areas and products proposed.
When to get urgent help
Unusual or increasing pain, pale skin, or a mottled grey or dusky patch after filler needs immediate assessment. Contact SONÜ straight away; if you cannot reach the clinic, seek urgent medical care rather than waiting for a review.
Call 999 if you develop a sudden vision change, difficulty speaking or weakness in an arm or leg. Tell them you have recently had facial filler.
When filler should be postponed
Filler is avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and when the treatment area is infected or inflamed. Tell Dr Alex about allergies, medical conditions, medicines, previous filler reactions and recent or planned dental treatment. These may affect the recommendation or timing.
You can take the recommendation away and decide in your own time.
Treatment costs
How much does an 8-point facelift cost?
