Your nose, your profile
Is there one angle you never quite like?
The change you're looking for might be quite small, even if you've been thinking about it for a long time.
The practical details
Nose filler at a glance
The shape changes during treatment, so you can see the difference before you leave.
Your result
A straighter-looking nose and a more balanced profile
Smoothing the bridge and supporting the tip can make your nose look more refined. It may even appear smaller, despite the small amount of volume being added.
That smaller-looking effect is an optical illusion: a bump stands out less, the outline looks smoother and the nose appears better balanced with the rest of your face. No bone or cartilage has been removed.
From the front, filler can also soften small irregularities so light reflects in a straighter line along the bridge. This can help a slightly bendy nose look straighter. A tip lift may further improve the profile where extra support is appropriate.
Dr Alex will explain which of these changes your anatomy allows. If you want the nose physically reduced in size, surgery is the more relevant option.

Is it right for you?
What would you change about your nose?
Nose filler is most useful when a change in contour could achieve the result you want.
When another approach fits better
Filler reshapes a nose; it doesn't reduce it
A markedly crooked nose, a nose you want made smaller, or a breathing problem needs a different assessment. Filler cannot narrow the nasal bones or correct a deviated septum.
Previous rhinoplasty also changes the tissues and blood supply. Tell Dr Alex about any operation before booking treatment; suitability needs particular care.
How it works
Changing the contour and the way light catches it
Hyaluronic acid filler adds support beneath the skin, changing the contour of selected parts of the nose.
A dip just above a hump can make the hump look more prominent. Adding support to that dip smooths the line of the bridge, making the hump less obvious in profile.
From the front, uneven contours can make the highlight along your nose look crooked. Softening those irregularities helps light reflect along a straighter line, creating the impression of a straighter nose without moving the bones underneath.
Filler can also support a suitable downward-pointing tip, helping it appear slightly lifted. Together, these changes can make a nose look more refined and better proportioned.

Why SONÜ
Why choose Dr Alex for nose filler?
Nose filler needs an assessment of the whole profile, including whether adding anything would give you a shape you actually prefer. Dr Alex will discuss that with you before recommending treatment.
He teaches doctors, dentists and nurses across dermal filler ranges and is currently a trainer for Evolus's Estyme fillers. He has also helped launch Estyme and Aliaxin LV in the UK.
That professional work sits alongside a straightforward approach to your consultation: identify the change you want, explain what is achievable and recommend another route when filler would be a poor fit.

Safety
What should you know before nose filler?
Nose filler can produce an attractive change without surgery, but the nose is a higher-risk area for filler injections.
Possible side effects
Temporary tenderness, redness, bruising and swelling can occur. Other problems include infection, lumps, an uneven result or delayed inflammation.
A blocked blood vessel can damage the skin and cause scarring. The blood vessels in this area connect with those supplying the eyes, so there is also a rare risk of permanent loss of vision; stroke has been reported after facial filler. These are reasons for a proper assessment and a clear discussion before treatment.
HA filler can be treated with a dissolving enzyme when appropriate. This does not make treatment risk-free or guarantee that a serious complication can be reversed.
Symptoms that need urgent help
Contact the clinic urgently for increasing or unusual pain, skin turning pale or dusky, mottling, or worsening redness. Seek urgent medical care if you cannot reach us. Sudden blurred or lost vision, severe eye pain, weakness or trouble speaking need emergency help immediately: call 999 and mention the filler treatment.
When treatment may need to wait
Tell Dr Alex about previous nose surgery, injuries, filler, infections, allergies, medicines, pregnancy or breastfeeding and relevant health conditions so he can advise on suitability. An active infection in the area needs to settle before treatment.
You can ask questions, take time to decide or choose not to have treatment.
Treatment costs
Nose filler pricing
Nose filler is listed at £550. A consultation with Dr Alex is listed separately at £75.
